And Where Does This Data Come From? The Background Records Registry database is an advanced gateway that provides access to numerous official public records data-sources, specialized search engines & search tools, covering millions of individual public records in every state, county and city. For a detailed description of our database sources, go to Uses & Database Description ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Why Does the Background Records Registry Seem So Under-Priced? For two reasons... Firstly, the records database is configured as a "self-serve" dashboard that guides you through the investigation process on the internet. This greatly reduces our overhead costs, and support - though readily available for our customers - is far more minimal than running a conventional private investigation service. Secondly, we are not targeting private investigators or "bulk-order" customers (such as reporting agencies that offer background check services). Rather, our site was created to give regular citizens easy, 1-click access to millions of public records that would otherwise be very difficult to locate for those whose profession is not investigation. See the registration page for full details ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. If These Are Public Records & Resources - Can't I Just Find Them On My Own? Well, you technically you might be able to find a few of these resources on your own, but consider this: It took our company months of research, talking to experts and sifting through one hard-to-find government site after the next to actually find and organize the vast amount of search tools, records databases and so on that BRR provides one-click access for. This is because, though these records sources are "public", they're not advertised, and much of the data they store is not indexed by search engines. Is our small, one-time membership investment worth saving countless hours of frustration and dead-ends trying to find that one "real" resource that actually contains real government records, databases and information? What is your time worth to you? Don't spend months trying to figure out where to even start looking on your own. And that's not an exaggeration - most of these resources are only found by those who ask around, ask private investigators and related experts. Not by searching "Google". ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. What Can the Background Records Registry Find That Other Search Sites Can't? What makes BRR so powerful is that it's the ultimate "quick-jump" organization tool for any type of online investigation, and it compiles a multitude of individual search tools, live databases, records lookup engines, specific people-search lookups and much more. So instead of only drawing results from just a few sources - which is what sites like WhitePages.com, Yahoo People Search or other popular lookup sites do in order to provide its results - BRR gives you direct access to over 72 individual data sources so you can search as specifically as you need to, and in much more detail. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. What If I'm Trying to Investigate Someone Who's Not a US Resident? While our resource database is primarily geared towards US searches, we do list numerous searching tools for Canadian and UK users - including: Canadian Address & People Search Resources Advanced Web-Search Sources & Techniques for People in Canada, UK, Australia and virtually any location in the world. Canadian Unclaimed Bank Accounts (Large Database, over $294 Million in unclaimed funds spreading across more than 839,000 dormant accounts) Canadian Unclaimed Assets in British Columbia UK Bankruptcy Records Database (Comprehensive database, search by name or trading name) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Do I Need Someone's Social Security Number in order to Investigate Them? No, you don't - although the more information you have to begin with, the greater the chance of finding something relevant in the public records, web searches and other database searches. You can even conduct searches with just a phone number or an address. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Can I Find Someone's SSN Number? Regarding actual SSN records, these are very difficult to find by design (in general), for obvious security and identity-protection reasons. The only resource that we include in our database related to SSN searches is a SSN Validation tool, which you can use to verify the credibility or authenticity of a given number. As well as: State of Issuance Approximate Date of Issuance Death Status (where "no record" means "not dead") Validity Status Warnings, if relevant (some SSN's have been issued as invalid due to common fraudulent usage) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Can I Find Out Someone's Credit Score With the Background Records Registry? Not someone else's actual "score" or credit bureau header, as we are not a reporting agency. (However, you can easily lookup your own credit score and full report, for free in the US.) Instead, you can search through millions of small-claims suits, bankruptcy records, business-complaint records and more related sources to see if the individual or business has a track record of non-payment or financial irresponsibility. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9. Can Others Find Out if I'm Searching For Information About Them? It's next to impossible to track any sort of internet use. The only possible scenarios in which the person you're investigating might potentially have any capability to discover your activities are the following: If the person works for the ISP that provides your internet connection If the person works for a security-related government agency (CIA, NSA, FBI, etc.), and for some reason they decide to investigate your internet usage If the person shares the use of your computer - providing that they've installed a "keylogger" (spy) software program, or if they're monitoring your browser history manually Note: If the third scenario applies to your situation, and if it's a concern, you can easily delete your browsing history, "autocomplete" form entries and all other internet usage logs by consulting the Help guide applicable to your browser. Realistically speaking, aside from the above extreme circumstances, your searches are 100% discreet and confidential. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10. Are There Any Hidden Fees or Deceptive Charges After I Join? Absolutely Not - our entire database of resources is accessible immediately after your small, one-time membership investment. And unlike virtually all of our competitors, we don't use "search credits" or have an upsell for "premium" records after you join. You get access to everything we offer when you become a member, period. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11. Are There Any Additional Charges For Obtaining Certain Types of Official Records? There are a small handful of external data sources that we include in our member's area that have their own processing fees or usage fees. Also, some records need to be ordered directly from an archive/records office as a hard copy, for which there are nominal charges for photocopying and postage. Any "paid" resource is clearly marked as such, and make up a very small percentage of our database. Basically all of the "paid" resource are direct records sources from Government offices, meaning that you won't find these for "free", anywhere - rest assured. To summarize: In most cases, the resources that are freely available in our member's area will provide you with more than enough information; it's only when you need very in-depth (specialized) information that you may need to obtain hard-copies of public records from applicable government offices or use a reporting agency/investigation firm. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12. How Many Searches Am I Allowed? You can search the records sources in our database an unlimited number of times, and your membership is a lifetime membership. Unlike almost every other online investigation service, there is no restriction whatsoever to any area of our investigative resource database. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 13. What If I Can't Find What I'm Looking For? This is where the Background Records Registry truly shines above the competition... What Payment Methods Do You Accept? We accept all major credit cards and PayPal. More specifically, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Bravo, Diners Club, Carte Blanche and Eurocard. At this time, we do not accept mail orders or checks. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 16. How Can I Be Sure That My Payment is Secure? We sell our products through ClickBank.com, a well-respected and widely used retailer of digital goods. ClickBank uses a 128-bit secure (encrypted) connection, which is the same level of security used by online banks, financial institutions, and other mainstream sites like Amazon.com and others. In addition, when you go to the purchase screen on registration, you'll notice a small "lock" symbol appear in the bottom-right hand corner of your browser, indicating a secure SSL connection. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17. How Will This Show Up on My Credit Card Statement? The charge on your account statement will show up as "CLKBANK", which is an abbreviated reference to the retailer who handles the sale of our products, ClickBank.com There will be absolutely no indication that you purchased an investigation product or anything related. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18.
